Grapes
100% Chardonnay, as is required for a Blanc de Blancs (White from Whites). The blend draws from around 10 different crus, including villages in the Côte des Blancs (Oger, Vertus), Montagne de Reims (Villers-Marmery, Trépail), and Montgueux.
Farming
Sourced from some of the most sought-after Chardonnay crus in Champagne. The blend incorporates a generous proportion of reserve wines (typically 25% to 30%) with an average age of up to 5 years, which contributes significantly to the wine's depth and texture.
Winemaking
The base wine is primarily fermented in stainless steel, though a small percentage (around 10%–15%) may be barrel-fermented to enhance texture. The wine undergoes extensive aging in the chalk cellars (crayères) for 36 to 48 months on the lees, far exceeding the legal minimum. The dosage is typically 7 g/L to 10 g/L (Brut).
Tasting Notes
Presents a pale, crystalline gold color. The nose is highly complex, initially showing aromas of mature Chardonnay like white peach, candied citrus, honeysuckle, and fresh hazelnut, giving way to hints of lemon and tangerine. The palate is fresh, pure, and surprisingly suave for a Blanc de Blancs, with a creamy, silky texture balanced by assertive acidity and a long, chalk-inflected, slightly saline finish.
