Grapes
100% Chardonnay. This sparkling wine is produced by Alma 4, a project founded by four friends, including Sebastián Zuccardi, focused exclusively on sparkling wines.
Farming
The grapes are hand-harvested from multiple vineyards within the Uco Valley, a sub-region of Mendoza. The sites are high-altitude, located around 4,000 feet (1,300–1,550 meters) above sea level, and feature sandy, stony, and calcareous soils. The producer follows sustainable farming practices.
Winemaking
The wine is produced using the Charmat Method (secondary fermentation in stainless steel tanks). The wine spends 6 months on its lees in stainless steel tanks to enhance complexity and mouthfeel. It is bottled with a light filtration and has a dosage resulting in a Brut style (approximately 10g/L Residual Sugar).
Tasting Notes
The nose is lively, bursting with notes of peach, pineapple, mango, mandarin, and watermelon. The palate is bright and fresh, laced with green apple and a subtle touch of freshly baked bread. It offers tight, persistent bubbles, a touch of sweetness, and notes of toasted almonds with a fine chalky finish.
