Grapes
A white blend consisting of 50% Torrontés, 25% Sauvignon Blanc, and 25% Chardonnay. Pielihueso is a project by the father-daughter duo Celina and Alejandro Bartolome, focusing on minimal-intervention wines.
Farming
Sourced from the Los Chacayes sub-region of the Uco Valley in Mendoza, Argentina. The six-hectare vineyard is farmed organically at a high elevation of approximately 4,265 feet (1,300 meters) above sea level. The soils are a mix of alluvial and sandy materials.
Winemaking
The grapes are co-fermented in stainless steel tanks using native yeasts. The wine is crafted with minimal intervention, with no use of new oak, and is generally bottled unfiltered, highlighting its fresh and primary fruit character.
Tasting Notes
A vibrant and aromatic blend offering a complex bouquet where the floral notes of Torrontés merge with the crisp, herbaceous aromas of Sauvignon Blanc and the subtle fruitiness of Chardonnay. The palate is fresh and sharp, with flavors of lemon zest, green apple, and a crunchy, mineral texture.
