2024 Lieu Dit Rosé

Aromas of tart bramble fruit, herbal tobacco leaf, grapefruit zest, and watermelon rind carry through to a palate that is light and refreshing with a cool herbal snap and lively acidity. The finish is clean and saline, with just enough grip to keep things interesting.

Lieu Dit selects specific sections of each vineyard suited to earlier harvest, capturing fruit that best expresses minerality alongside fruit and herbal character. The grapes are whole-cluster pressed, fermented in stainless steel, and briefly aged in old barrels before release. It is the first wine bottled each year, making it an early and energetic read on the vintage.

Lieu Dit was founded in 2011 by partners Eric Railsback and Justin Willett, with a focus solely on varieties indigenous to the Loire Valley, grown in Santa Barbara County. The diverse microclimates and marine-based soils of the region give the wine its characteristic brightness and coastal tension, and the Santa Ynez Valley's Happy Canyon and Rock Hollow Vineyards provide the fruit.
