Aromas of dark bramble fruit, black pepper, and violet integrate with savory notes of black olive tapenade and wet stones. The palate is medium-bodied and nimble, featuring a core of crunchy blackberry and tart plum. It displays fine-grained tannins and a bright, iron-like acidity that leads to a persistent finish marked by a distinct mineral saltiness and a refreshing herbal lift.
Winemaker Martin Texier utilizes 100% Syrah from a single parcel of young vines. The grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts using whole-cluster inclusion to emphasize aromatic lift and structural snap. Maceration is kept relatively short and gentle to avoid over-extraction, and the wine is aged in neutral concrete tanks to preserve its primary fruit energy. It is bottled unfined and unfiltered with no added sulfur, maintaining a raw and transparent profile of the vintage.
The fruit is grown in the Brézème zone, a small and historic enclave at the southernmost tip of the Northern Rhône. The site is defined by its unique limestone-rich soils, specifically the marly limestone of the "Carrière" parcel. This location sits on a steep, south-facing hill that benefits from the cooling influence of the Drôme River, resulting in a Syrah that balances the ripeness of the south with the peppery tension and limestone precision of the north.
