Aromas of white peach, green apple, and lime zest integrate with savory notes of wet stone, elderflower, and a hint of wild mint. The palate is light-bodied and electric, featuring a core of crunchy orchard fruit and a delicate, honeyed sweetness. It displays a piercing acidity and a vertical structure that leads to a long finish marked by a clean saline snap and a refreshing citrus lift.
The wine is a collaboration between LELIYG and Weingut Riffel. Winemakers Erik and Carolin Riffel utilize 100% Riesling fruit that is hand-harvested at the precise moment of Kabinett ripeness to ensure a low-alcohol, high-acid profile. The fruit is farmed biodynamically and fermented with native yeasts in stainless steel vats. The process is stopped before completion to retain a balanced level of residual sugar, resulting in a wine that is certified organic and vegan.
The fruit is grown in the Binger Kirchberg vineyard within the Rheinhessen region of Germany. The site is defined by its steep southern exposure and its unique soils of quartzite and heavy clay, which overlook the confluence of the Nahe and Rhine rivers. This position provides excellent drainage and a cooling river influence, allowing the Riesling to develop complex aromatics while maintaining the sharp structural tension and stony character typical of this historic hillside.
