2023 Hourglass Blueline Estate Merlot

Ripe dark plum and red cherry aromas intertwine with savory notes of black olive tapenade, mandarin orange peel, and leafy herbs, leading into deeper black sour cherry and crème de cassis. The palate is rich and expansive with supple tannins, vibrant minerality, and balanced natural acidity that carries through the finish.

Grapes are harvested and vinified in small lots with controlled extraction. After fermentation, the wine is aged in French oak barrels to develop texture and structure.

Produced by Hourglass, a Napa Valley winery founded in 1992 and led by Jeff and Carolyn Smith with the Chilton and Clark families, with winemaking by Tony Biagi. The Blueline Estate vineyard lies in Calistoga on gravelly Cortina River Wash soils within the Napa Valley AVA.
