2023 Brick & Mortar Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

Aromas of wild strawberry, tart cranberry, fresh sage, and rose petal lead into a bright, medium-bodied palate. Flavors of red cherry, pomegranate, and orange peel mesh with underlying notes of graphite and sea salt. The texture is focused, driven by crisp acidity and fine-grained tannins through a long, mineral-accented finish.

Hand-harvested fruit undergoes a cold soak before fermenting naturally in open-top fermenters with indigenous yeasts. The wine ages for 10 to 12 months in neutral French oak barrels on fine lees without racking, preserving fresh fruit tension before being bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Grapes are sourced from a single vineyard site located five miles from San Pablo Bay in Carneros. The vines root into well-draining Goldridge sandy loam soils. Direct maritime fog and cold bay winds slow sugar accumulation and preserve natural acidity, yielding fruit with moderate alcohol and high structural tension.
