Aromas of fresh raspberry, red cherry, dried plum skin, rose petal, and baking spice lead into a supple, medium-bodied palate. Flavors of tart cranberry, black tea leaf, cocoa powder, and subtle bay leaf mesh with a savory, faint brininess. The texture is silky and graceful, supported by medium-grained tannins and bright, mouthwatering acidity through a long, spice-laced, iron-rich finish.
Hand-harvested fruit undergoes fermentation in open-top tanks incorporating partial whole clusters (roughly 20 percent). Following temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine ages for nine months in French oak barrels (using 15 percent new wood) to soften the structure while keeping the primary red fruit and delicate spice notes integrated and front-and-center.
Grapes are sourced exclusively from estate hillside vineyards—including Red Hills, Arcus, Summit, Renegade Ridge, and Archer’s Edge—located within Oregon's Dundee Hills AVA in the Willamette Valley. Densely planted on steep, high-elevation slopes, the vines root deep into bright red Jory soil (iron-rich volcanic basalt), yielding small, concentrated berries balanced by cool coastal nighttime air.
