Grapes
100% Pinot Noir. This is a Traditional Method sparkling Rosé.
Farming
The grapes are sourced from cool-climate sites in the Sonoma Coast/Mendocino Ridge AVA, known for its high elevation and coastal influence. The producer, Alma Fria, is highly focused on organic farming.
Winemaking
This wine is made using the Traditional Method or Méthode Champenoise. The Pinot Noir is whole-cluster pressed very gently to achieve a light, pale color, often referred to as a vin gris. Fermentation is done with ambient/wild yeasts, and the wine is bottled for the secondary fermentation.
Tasting Notes
Described as fresh, energetic, and bright. It presents a delicate, pale melon pink shade. Aromas include a burst of honeysuckle, orange blossoms, and fresh red berries like strawberry and raspberry. The palate is crisp and dry, featuring mouthwatering flavors of red grapefruit, tangerine, and red currant, all carried by a continuous, fine bead of tiny bubbles and a noticeable saline minerality that reflects the coastal origin.
