Medium-bodied with broad depth, juicy blackberry and cherry fruit notes, light velvety tannins, and an underlying herbaceous, earthy character. Acidity is low.
After harvest, grapes are macerated for about 10 days. The wine is aged for 13 months in wooden barrels, during which malolactic fermentation takes place.
Produced by Venica & Venica, a family winery established in 1930 in the Collio DOC of Friuli‑Venezia Giulia, northern Italy. The Collio DOC features marl and sandstone (“ponca”) soils and a temperate climate suited to Merlot cultivation.
