Product Details
What it Tastes Like

Aromas of wild red berry, white peach, dried orange peel, potpourri, and tea leaf lead into a lifted, medium-bodied palate. Flavors of sweet red cherry, pomegranate, blood orange, and subtle baking spice mesh with a chalky mineral undertone. The texture is velvety and generous, supported by delicate, fine-grained tannins and bright, mouthwatering acidity through an elegant, floral finish.

How it’s Made

A field blend dominated by Zinfandel alongside small proportions of Mondeuse Noire, Carignan, and Cinsault. Grapes are hand-harvested from head-trained, own-rooted, dry-farmed old vines planted in 1915. Fermentation takes place using native yeasts, and the wine ages in barrel (80 percent French oak and 20 percent American oak, with roughly 20 percent new wood) before being bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve its aromatic nuance.

Where it’s From

Grapes are grown at the Kirschenmann Vineyard, owned by Turley winemaker Tegan Passalacqua and located in the Mokelumne River sub-AVA of Lodi. Situated on an oxbow of the river, the site features fine, silica-rich white sand soils sitting atop limestone bedrock. The combination of reflective sandy soils, old own-rooted vines, and cool afternoon delta breezes yields a distinctively perfumed, high-toned, and elegant expression of Zinfandel.
