Aromas of pomegranate, crushed red cherry, wild herbs, and rose petal open to a palate that is juicy and light-bodied with a peppery floral lift and crunchy red berry fruit. A gentle mineral thread carries through to a clean, refreshing finish.
The grapes are whole-cluster fermented and aged for ten months in neutral French oak barriques, then bottled without fining or filtration.
The fruit comes from a minuscule 0.88-acre block at Nolan Ranch Vineyard in the Santa Ynez Valley, planted to original budwood sourced from Château de Beaucastel in Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The site's limestone-rich soils lend the wine its distinct mineral precision, and the variety's natural acidity makes it exceptionally well suited to the warm California climate.
