Aromas of fresh lemon zest, white peach, crushed chalk, and wet stone lead into a structured, medium-bodied palate. Flavors of green apple, dried citrus peel, subtle hazelnut, and mountain herbs mesh with a firm, electric mineral core. The texture is precise and taut, balanced by high natural acidity and a long, saline, slate-like finish.
Farmed organically and hand-harvested from high-elevation blocks. Whole-cluster pressed and fermented in neutral French oak puncheons along with large foudres using native yeasts. The wine ages in neutral oak and concrete vessels to prevent malolactic fermentation, retaining pure fruit energy, focused acidity, and crisp structural balance.
Grapes are grown at the Mayacamas estate perched on the steep, rugged slopes of Mount Veeder in the Mayacamas Mountains of Napa Valley. Situated between 1,800 and 2,000 feet above sea level, the vineyard sits on volcanic, gravelly clay soils. The cool mountain altitude delays ripening, creating extended hang time while preserving exceptionally high natural acidity.
