Aromas of dark cherry, ripe plum, toasted oak, violet, and cinnamon lead into a rich, full-bodied palate. Flavors of blackberry, cola nut, wild strawberry, and sweet baking spice mesh with earthy undertones and a touch of cocoa. The texture is broad and velvety, supported by smooth tannins and balanced acidity through a long, polished finish.
Hand-harvested from select blocks and fermented in small, open-top vessels using native and selected yeasts. The wine ages for ten months in French oak barrels, with 50 percent new oak to shape the texture and complement the fruit intensity before being bottled without fining or filtration.
Grapes are sourced from the Zio Tony Ranch, located in the cool Russian River Valley appellation near Sebastopol. Planted on Goldridge sandy loam soils, the vineyard benefits from dense morning fog off the nearby Pacific Ocean and warm afternoon sun, creating ideal conditions for slow, balanced fruit ripening.
