Aromas of ripe citrus and orchard fruit with subtle herbal and saline nuances. The palate is dry and crisp, with lively acidity and layered texture carrying through a clean, persistent finish.
Riesling grapes are hand-harvested and fermented spontaneously with native yeasts in neutral barrels. The wine is produced with an emphasis on minimal intervention to let the vineyard’s character show, and bottled with very low residual sugar.
Produced by Forge Cellars on the east side of Seneca Lake in New York’s Finger Lakes. The Railroad site features gravelly loam soils on the lake’s slope, and the estate’s viticulture and cellar work focus on expressing individual vineyard sites within this cool-climate region.
