Aromas of quince, yellow peach, dried apricot, and fresh thyme lead into a medium-bodied, textured palate. Flavors of mandarin orange, crushed citrus, dried herbs, and roasted almond mesh with prominent mineral undertones. The light amber-hued wine shows gentle skin-contact tannins and balanced acidity through a long, dry, savory finish.
Hand-harvested indigenous white grapes are vinified separately based on variety. A portion undergoes 10 months of extended skin contact with fermentation and 14 months of aging in large oak barrels, while the remaining fruit undergoes one month of skin contact and ages sur lie in stainless steel tanks for 15 months before final assembly.
Grapes are sourced from terraced vineyard sites across Goriška Brda along the Italian border. Rooted in marl and sandstone soils locally known as opoka, the vines benefit from warm Mediterranean weather mixed with cool Alpine air currents, yielding grapes with concentrated fruit weight and intense natural minerality.
