Aromas of tart red cherry, wild raspberry, and dried rose petals integrate with savory notes of licorice, tobacco leaf, and a touch of leather. The palate is medium-bodied and tightly wound, featuring a core of crunchy cranberry and dark spice. It displays firm, assertive tannins and a vibrant acidity that leads to a structured, lingering finish marked by a distinct earthy minerality.
The winemaking team utilizes 100% Nebbiolo from the estate’s oldest vines in the Serraboella vineyard. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats, accompanied by a traditional maceration on the skins. The wine ages for 26 months in a combination of large Slavonian oak casks and neutral French oak barrels before bottling without filtration.
The fruit is grown on the steep, south-facing slopes of the Serraboella cru in Barbaresco, Piedmont, Italy. The site sits at 350 meters elevation and is defined by its calcareous clay loam soils. This specific microclimate, combined with the estate's high-altitude exposure, yields a powerful and exceptionally structured expression of Nebbiolo with great aging potential.
