2022 Chateau d' Issan Margaux

Aromas of cassis, fresh rose petals, mint, pencil shavings, and subtle vine smoke lead into a suave, velvety palate. Flavors of dark cherry, orange peel, and dried tobacco mesh with underlying graphite and cedar nuances. The texture is rich and broad, anchored by fine, structured tannins and a savory, mineral-driven finish.

Crafted from a blend dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, balanced with small additions of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. Hand-harvested grapes are sorted and fermented by plot in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine ages for 16 to 18 months in French oak barrels (50% new), building structure and spicy complexity while preserving floral lift.

Grapes are grown in historic estate plots in Margaux. Situated along the Gironde estuary, the vineyard features deep gravel mounds layered over clay subsoils, providing optimal drainage and forcing vine roots deep into the ground for consistent moisture and mineral focus.
