Heady aromas of ripe blackberry, mocha, and cigar box lead into notes of wild strawberry and jasmine. The palate is broad and velvety, weaving flavors of dark cherry, raspberry compote, and blood orange with baking spices. A focused acidity anchors the plush texture, finishing long with refined tannins and a hint of forest floor.
Fermented in open-top tanks with a touch of whole-cluster grapes included for aromatic lift. The wine ages for 15 months in French oak barrels, using a mix of new and neutral wood to integrate flavors while retaining freshness.
Grapes are sourced from estate and benchmark vineyards across the Russian River Valley in Sonoma County, California. The region relies on a daily influx of cooling Pacific fog that rolls in through the afternoon and night, slowing down grape ripening. The vines grow mostly in Goldridge sandy loam soils, which provide excellent drainage and balance.
