Aromas of fresh plum, blackberry, and violet integrate with savory notes of wet concrete and crushed stone. The palate is medium to full-bodied and focused, featuring a core of pure dark fruit and a distinct chalky texture. It displays firm, fine-grained tannins and a vibrant acidity that leads to a long finish marked by a clean, saline minerality.
Winemaker Sebastian Zuccardi utilizes 100% Malbec fermented and aged entirely in concrete vats. The process involves whole-cluster inclusion to add structural tension and aromatic lift. By eschewing oak entirely, the winemaking focuses on preserving the primary fruit and the raw expression of the soil, resulting in a wine with incredible transparency and a vertical, linear structure.
The fruit is grown in Paraje Altamira within the Uco Valley of Mendoza. The site is defined by its high elevation and extremely rocky soils, which are covered in calcium carbonate. These limestone-rich deposits impart the wine's signature mineral grip. The cool mountain climate and intense solar radiation allow the grapes to develop deep concentration while maintaining the high natural acidity essential for this site-driven style.
