Aromas of ripe Morello cherry, orange peel, violet, and dark spice lead into a powerful, full-bodied palate. Flavors of dark plum, licorice, cranberry, and new leather mesh with savory earthy undertones. The texture is broad and dense, anchored by robust, firm-grained tannins and bright natural acidity that extend through a structured, long-lasting finish.
Farmed using traditional viticultural methods across dedicated member plots. Hand-harvested grapes undergo fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures with 28 days of skin maceration. The wine completes full malolactic fermentation and ages for 30 to 36 months in large Slavonian oak casks (botti) followed by additional bottle aging before release.
Grapes are grown in the Montestefano MGA within the Barbaresco appellation of Piedmont, Italy. Facing due south on a steep, heat-trapping hillside, the vineyard features calcareous clay-limestone soils that produce some of the most muscular, tannic, and long-lived wines in the Barbaresco zone.
