Aromas of fresh violet, crushed gravel, baking spice, creme de cassis, and black cherry lead into a full-bodied, concentrated palate. Flavors of dark plum, black raspberry, cocoa, espresso, and subtle graphite mesh with a plush, layered fruit core. The texture is rich and velvety, supported by fine-grained tannins and balanced acidity through a long, polished finish.
Grapes are hand-harvested from organically farmed estate vineyard blocks. The fruit undergoes a four-day cold soak followed by fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. A Cabernet-dominant Napa Valley blend, the wine ages for 20 months in French oak barrels (utilizing roughly 75 percent new oak) to build structural framing and mid-palate density before bottling unfined.
Grapes are grown exclusively on the 38-acre Odette Estate Vineyard in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley. Planted on Boomer and Perkins gravelly loam soils of volcanic origin, the vines sit at the base of the Stags Leap Palisades. The microclimate features intense daytime sun reflected off the eastern rock faces, balanced by cool evening maritime air flowing north from San Pablo Bay.
