Aromas of fresh rose petals, ripe red cherry, juniper berry, licorice, and fine baking spices lead into an elegant, medium-to-full-bodied palate. Flavors of tart cranberry, strawberry, crushed herbs, and subtle cinnamon mesh with a stony mineral core. The texture is silky yet structured, supported by firm, fine-grained tannins and vibrant natural acidity through a long, polished finish.
Crafted entirely from Nebbiolo. The grapes are hand-harvested following summer cluster thinning to concentrate flavors. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with 15 to 18 days of skin maceration. The wine ages for 20 to 24 months in medium-sized oak casks (botti) followed by an additional year of bottle refinement before release, rounding out its structure while keeping oak impact integrated and subtle.
Grapes are sourced from estate-managed vineyards across the western sector of the Barolo zone. The wine gets its name from the ancient Tortonian-era calcareous marl soils, which are rich in active limestone, magnesium, and manganese. These nutrient-dense, softer clay-marl soils impart a perfumed, balanced, and approachable character compared to the more powerful, sandstone-driven soils of eastern Barolo.
