Aromas of ripe blackberry, dark plum, dried thyme, and subtle cocoa lead into a robust, medium-to-full-bodied palate. Flavors of dark cherry, cassis, and black tea mesh with an underlying earthy touch. The texture is structured and dense, anchored by firm, chalky tannins and fresh acidity that keeps the deep fruit balanced through a long, savory finish.
Farmed using sustainable viticultural methods with strict yield control. Hand-harvested grapes are destemmed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete tanks. The wine undergoes gentle micro-oxygenation during maceration to soften the naturally assertive grape tannins, followed by 12 months of aging in concrete vats and neutral oak barrels to preserve varietal clarity.
Grapes are grown in estate vineyards in the Madiran appellation of Southwest France, located near the Pyrenees mountains. The blend (predominantly Tannat with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc) grows on gentle slopes of clay, gravel, and iron-rich subsoils that yield deeply concentrated fruit while maintaining vibrant natural acidity.
