This Cabernet opens with aromas of blackcurrant, ripe raspberry, and dark plum with hints of spice and savory notes. The palate shows layered dark fruit with firm tannins and fresh acidity, carrying depth and persistence through the finish. A rich yet elegant expression that develops with time in the glass.
The 2021 blend is 93 % Cabernet Sauvignon and 7 % Cabernet Franc from select historic rows within the estate vineyards. Whole clusters are pressed, fermented with wild yeasts in 500-liter French oak and aged 12–18 months in French oak barrels of varying age before bottling.
Produced by Bodega Catena Zapata in Mendoza, Argentina, fruit comes from parcels in Agrelo, Tupungato’s Uco Valley, and Altamira with alluvial soils and varying elevations. The project focuses on historic vineyard rows that have been tended by the Catena family across generations.
