Aromas of dark plum, blackberry, and black cherry integrate with intense notes of leather, vanilla, and warm spice. The palate is full-bodied and velvet-like, featuring a dense core of black fruit balanced by a firm tannic structure and a persistent, balsamic finish.
The winemaking team led by Angela Velenosi utilizes fruit from 30-year-old vines. In the cellar, the blend of 70% Montepulciano and 30% Sangiovese undergoes a long maceration on the skins to ensure maximum extraction of color and polyphenols. The wine matures for 18 months in new French oak barriques, which provides the necessary structural framework and spicy complexity to support the concentrated fruit.
The fruit is grown on the estate's hillside vineyards in the communes of Offida and Castel di Lama within the Marche region. The site is defined by its medium-textured soils, which are primarily clay-based with significant limestone deposits. These south-facing slopes, situated at an elevation of 200 to 300 meters, benefit from the proximity to the Adriatic Sea, providing a microclimate that allows the late-ripening Montepulciano to reach full maturity while maintaining essential freshness.
