Aromas of black raspberry, dark cherry, cracked black pepper, and smoked tobacco lead into a full-bodied, opulent palate. Flavors of cassis, dark chocolate, and roasted herbs mesh with underlying notes of dark plum and cedar. The texture is rich and broad, supported by ripe, polished tannins and fresh natural acidity on a long, savory finish.
Farmed using sustainable viticultural practices. Hand-harvested grapes are carefully sorted and fermented in small, temperature-controlled lots to preserve fruit intensity and structural balance. The wine undergoes extended aging in French oak barrels (a high percentage of new oak) to integrate its tannic frame while building mid-palate texture before bottling.
Grapes are sourced from high-elevation, steep hillside vineyard sites on the west side of Paso Robles within California's Central Coast. The blend (dominated by Syrah with minor proportions of white co-ferments or secondary red Rhone varieties) grows in limestone and rocky calcareous soils, where extreme diurnal temperature shifts allow the fruit to achieve deep concentration while retaining natural acidity.
