Ripe red cherry, cranberry, and raspberry lead, followed by subtle notes of dried rose petal and forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, silky tannins and bright, lifted acidity.
Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented whole-cluster with native yeasts in small open-top fermenters, and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.
Produced by Calera, founded in 1975, in California’s Central Coast. Ryan Vineyard in the Mt. Harlan AVA sits at 2,200 ft on limestone-rich soils.
