Red cherry, cranberry, and raspberry lead, followed by hints of dried rose petal and forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, silky tannins and bright, lifted acidity.
Grapes are hand-harvested, fermented with native yeasts in small open-top fermenters, and aged for 11 months in French oak barrels.
Produced by Calera, founded in 1975, in California’s Central Coast. Mills Vineyard in the Mt. Harlan AVA sits at 2,200 ft on limestone-rich soils.
