Ripe blackberry, raspberry, and dark fruit aromas lead with hints of spice and subtle savory notes. The palate shows layered dark fruit with firm, moderate tannins and balanced acidity, carrying through a persistent, fruit-focused finish.
Fruit was hand-harvested and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel. The wine was then aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels, including a portion of new oak, before bottling. The focus is on preserving varietal character while adding structure and depth through élevage.
Produced by Andis Wines in Amador County, this Zinfandel comes from the Sierra Foothills AVA. The wine is sourced from the historic Original Grandpere Vineyard, an own-rooted Zinfandel site planted in 1869 and recognized as one of the oldest continuously farmed Zinfandel vineyards in the United States.
