Aromas of creme de cassis, blueberries, espresso, and sweet violet lead into a seamless, full-bodied palate. Layered flavors of dark chocolate, cinnamon, and blackberry mesh with subtle notes of new leather, red currant, and forest floor. The structure shows remarkable power without feeling heavy, carried by silky, fine-grained tannins and a long, fragrant finish.
Hand-harvested Cabernet Sauvignon is blended with 10% Cabernet Franc. Fermentation takes place across a combination of oak vats, stainless steel tanks, and puncheons. Guided by winemakers Philippe Melka and Michel Rolland, the wine ages for 20 months in French oak barrels (71% new) before bottling.
Grapes are sourced from blocks within the historic Beckstoffer To Kalon Vineyard in Oakville. Situated on the Oakville Bench, the site features gravelly, well-drained alluvial soil that forces vine roots deep. The combination of warm valley-floor sunshine and cool afternoon breezes allows the fruit to develop immense structural power and aromatic complexity.
