2018 Long Meadow Ranch Farmstead Pinot Noir
What it Tastes Like

Aromas of fresh raspberry, black cherry, and red currant integrate with subtle notes of forest floor and black tea. The palate is medium-bodied and supple, featuring a bright acidity and silky tannins that carry the ripe berry flavors into a clean, spicy finish.

How it’s Made

The Hall family utilizes organic farming practices across their estate vineyards. In the cellar, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve the primary fruit aromatics. The wine matures for several months in French oak barrels, with a small percentage of new oak used to provide a delicate structure without overwhelming the transparent nature of the Pinot Noir fruit.

Where it’s From

The fruit is sourced from several cool-climate sites within the Anderson Valley in Mendocino County. This region is defined by its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, which allows cold marine air and fog to travel up the Navarro River, naturally regulating the vineyard temperatures. The soils are a mix of alluvial gravel and clay, which provide the drainage and nutrient balance necessary for producing Pinot Noir with both depth and freshness.
