Aromas of buttered lemon, honeysuckle, tart pineapple, and white flowers lead into a bright, medium-to-full-bodied palate. Flavors of citrus blossom, green almond, lemongrass, and subtle toasted oak mesh with a distinct, stony minerality. The texture is creamy yet weightless, framed by a laser-precise backbone of racy acidity that drives a long, steel-tinged finish.
Hand-harvested Montrachet clone Chardonnay is fermented using a combination of temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and French oak barrels. Crafted by winemaker Philippe Melka, the juice undergoes aging in 45% new French oak barrels with minimal stirring to maintain linear energy and structural focus before bottling.
Grapes are sourced entirely from the cool-climate Platt Vineyard, situated high on a ridge in the Sonoma Coast region. Located just five miles from the Pacific Ocean, the site features sandy loam soils and frequent maritime fog. Ocean breezes keep the vines cool, allowing small-berry development that delivers concentrated flavor while preserving high natural acidity.
