This Haut-Médoc offers aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and dark berry with hints of cedar and spice. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with concentrated fruit supported by polished tannins and bright acidity, finishing with layered dark fruit and subtle savory notes. Professional reviews note depth and structure with integrated oak influence.
The 2018 vintage was hand-harvested and vinified with cold pre-fermentation maceration followed by controlled extraction. After fermentation the wine aged about 12 months, largely in French oak barrels with a portion of new wood and some concrete eggs to add texture while integrating structure.
Produced by Château Charmail in Haut-Médoc on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, the estate sits in Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne on gravity-draining gravel and clay soils. Vineyards are planted to a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot, and the property’s history and terroir contribute to its balanced, structured wines.
