2015 Perrier-Jouet 'Belle Epoque' Brut Gift Box w/ Glasses
Grapes
A blend emphasizing Chardonnay, typical of the Perrier-Jouët style: 50% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Noir, and 5% Pinot Meunier. It is a prestige vintage cuvée from the Champagne region of France.
Farming
The Belle Epoque cuvée is only produced in the best vintage years. The Chardonnay component often comes from the Grand Cru villages in the Côte des Blancs, which is central to the House's floral and elegant style.
Winemaking
The wine undergoes traditional secondary fermentation in the bottle. It is aged on its lees (the Belle Epoque collection is aged for a minimum of six years before release) to gain complexity, creaminess, and tertiary aromas. It has a low dosage, often around 8 grams per liter. The bottle is famously adorned with the Japanese white anemones, an Art Nouveau design created by Émile Gallé in 1902.
Tasting Notes
Presents a pale gold, luminous color. The bouquet is delicate and floral, with notes of white flowers (linden, hawthorn blossom, honeysuckle), leading to fruity aromas of vine peach, poached pear, and grapefruit. On the palate, it is elegant, with a satin-like mousse, a bright burst of Meyer lemon-infused acidity, and rich texture. The finish often includes hints of brioche, candied ginger, and chopped almond.
