September is harvest season, when the work in the vineyard reaches its most important moment of the year. At Murphy's, it's also a chance to think about the people behind that work. Many winemakers would consider themselves farmers first, with winemaking as an extension of their relationship with the land.
Farmers First is a September tasting series celebrating organically farmed estate wines and the people who make them. Each week, we'll explore a different wine region and meet producers who maintain a close connection between the vineyard, the cellar, and the finished bottle.
We begin in Italy with five producers from five distinct corners of the country: Emilia-Romagna, Lazio, Sicily, Tuscany, and Piedmont. Their approaches and traditions may differ, but each offers a unique perspective on what it means to grow grapes and make wine with a deep sense of place.
Join us on our covered patio for a walk-around tasting featuring five wines. The full Murphy's dinner menu will be available throughout the evening, so come settle in, enjoy dinner, and discover the farmers behind the wine.
