wonderfully original and distinctive Rosé
100% Pinot Noir
The Schneider family has been making wine in the famed Nahe village of Niederhäusen since 1575. Today the winery is run by Jakob Schneider Jr. who took over operations after graduating from Geisenheim and interning at Knoll in Austria’s Wachau. His wife Laura, sister Monika, and mother Liesel, all manage different parts of the estate.
The Schneiders cultivate 45 hectares, including 18 of their own, in some of the very best sites of the geologically diverse village Niederhäusen. Over 52 different soil types can be found here, mostly based on volcanic rock and slate. Schneider’s wines maintain an old world charm while showcasing a stalwart minerality only derived from the amazing terroirs from which they hale.
Jakob Schneider's Pinot Noir Rosé from the Nahe region offers a bright, ruby red color in the swirled glass. This single-varietal German wine shows wonderfully youthful notes of raspberries and strawberries in the glass. This is joined by hints of pepper.
The Jakob Schneider Pinot Noir Rosé presents itself to the wine drinker wonderfully dry. This rosé wine is never coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine in the upper price range. Balanced and multifaceted, this light and silky rosé wine presents itself on the palate. Due to its concise fruit acidity, the Pinot Noir Rosé reveals itself to be fantastically fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful wine from the wine-growing region of the Nahe finally inspires with good length. There are again hints of raspberry and strawberry.
