2019 Stadt Krems Grüner Veltliner
Wine Enthusiast 92: Underneath the vivid green pear and lemon notes on the nose there is a real Mirabelle intensity. The palate adds yeasty creaminess to these notions on a slender but concentrated palate, while salty, peppery highlights enliven that yeasty body.
Tasting Notes Gruner is your salad’s best friend. Spicy food loves to hang out with Gruner. Sauvignon Blanc drinkers this is your kind of wine. Gruner Veltliner is the signature grape of Austria and produces a dry white wine with savory aromas, spicy flavors, and good acidity. Young Gruner is fresh-tasting with notes of green apple, lemon, pear, and arugula. Stadt Krems was founded in 1452 and is one of Austria’s oldest wineries. Their Kremstal Gunner has a hint of minerality on the nose which lends a certain earthiness to the ripe pear aromas. The palate comes in with bright freshness on a slightly textured, dry palate. So refreshing!
