The 2018 M. Étain is a blend of 87 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 6 percent Malbec, 4 percent Merlot and 3 percent Petit Verdot. Deep garnet-purple colored, it charges out of the gate with expressive notes of crème de cassis, baked plums, wild blueberries and tilled soil with loads of exotic spice and fruitcake accents. Full-bodied, the palate is as rich as it is vibrant and refreshing, featuring approachable, finely grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and earthy.

Racked into 3rd, 4th and 5th fill French Oak barrels (300L in size) for 9 months before it was blended with concrete aged Cabernet. The final blend is 60% oak matured and 40% from concrete. A bright, fresh Cab with notes of sour red cherry and a bit of brambly and autumn leaves finish. -

Medium-to full-bodied with refined and polished tannins that are all together and so focused. Really integrated and melted together on the palate. Compact and very linear. Please give this two or three years to come completely together, but it’s already breathtaking. Better to drink after 2022. -
