Lush and velvety, this wine offers big, dark cherry flavor around a tangy minerality. From three vineyard blocks planted to Pommard and Swan clones, it balances opposites in the way full-bodied luxuriousness meets acidity-driven juiciness, creating a desire for more. Let this wine open in the glass or cellar through 2023. Cellar Selection
Tasting Notes ~
This 2016 Morgon MC2 comes from 40 year old vines - two sources Charmes and Corcelette - planted on sand and schist with a subsoil of decomposed rock and clay. Whole cluster fermentation lasts for 20 days in concrete and 40 percent of the cuvée is matured in neutral oak for 10 months, resulting in a dark, mineral driven and longlived style of Beaujolais perfect for pairing with game birds and hearty grains.
