2017 Krasno Red Blend
Tasting Notes ~
If you are a fan of Northern Rhône or Austrian reds then a Slovenian red may be your new friend. Krasno Red is a blend of 40 percent Cabernet Franc, 30 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and 30 percent Merlot all fermented separately before blending. Ruby red in color with a purple hue. Bramble and red cherries on the nose followed by a fain grassy aroma. Medium body, gentle texture with a long finish. Fermented in Stainless steel tank and then left to mature in Slavonic barrels for 12 months.

$23.00Add to cartTasting Notes ~ Chris Brockaway makes a wide range of California wine but the common denominators are that they must be made without additives (other than a small amount of SO2 as necessary), always fermented with indigenous yeasts, using grapes from vineyards that do not use synthetic chemicals. A blend of 85 percent Valdiguié, 14 percent Zinfandel, and 1 percent Trousseau - the fruit was foot stomped and left on the skins for 12 hours. Pressed into stainless steel tank where all three varieties fermented together just over 18-21 days. Spice comes from the Zinfandel, acidity from the Valdiguié and texture from the Trousseau. This is a 100% finished wine, meaning it fermented until it went dry using only native yeasts and went through spontaneous malolactic fermentation. 1,800 cases produced. Limited availability. -
2020 Day Wines ‘Vin de Days l’Orange’
$26.00Add to cartTasting Notes ~ The 2020 Vin de Days L'Orange is that textural and aromatic circus that you're looking for. This blend of 48 percent Riesling, 32 percent Müller-Thurgau, 15 percent Gewürztraminer and 5 percent Pinot gris is a marvelous expression of these aromatic varietals and what can be achieved with a little skin contact (8 days to be exact). The beautiful, floral Gewürz notes of lychee and rose juxtapose in wonderful fashion with the racy, stony minerality of the Riesling, while the Müller adds grapefruit and mango in a subtle tropical lift and Pinot gris gives acidic nuance to the firmly textured palate. With time and air, the fruit profile becomes richer and spicier with notes of candied orange rind and dried apricot. The finish remains vibrant and grippy even through the second day of being open. It's everything you're looking for from an aromatic "orange" wine.
