  • 2018 Vietti Barbera d’Asti ‘Tre Vigne’

    $19.00
    WA 91
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 91: The Vietti 2018 Barbera d'Asti Tre Vigne is a vibrant red wine teeming with energy and electricity. Those berry tones of cassis, cranberry and black currant pop from the glass. Primary fruit remains the focus, but that fruit is nicely framed by contours of spice and toasted nut. The grapes harvested for this wine represent a second selection from some of the same parcels that make the Barbera d'Asti La Crena. This cool-vintage expression is just lovely, informal and fun.
Tasting Notes The wine is a vibrant red, berry tones of cassis, cranberry and black currant pop from the glass. The fruit is nicely framed by the contours of spice and toasted nut.

  • 2019 Enrico Serafino ‘Grifo del Quartaro’ Gavi di Gavi

    $19.00
    WA 91
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 91: The 2019 Gavi del Comune di Gavi Grifo del Quartaro is a beautifully fragrant wine that shows the floral and tropical fruit intensity that comes with the Cortese grape. The vines are planted in a six-hectare site in Monterotondo di Gavi that boasts white calcareous clay soils. These conditions reduce the vigor of the vines, resulting in more character and concentration. You'll also notice a drying touch of chalky minerality that gives linearity and focus to the wine. An ample 50,000 bottles were released at a terrific value price.

  • 2018 Trivento Reserve Malbec

    $11.00
    WA 89
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 89: The largest production from Trivento is the 2018 Reserve Malbec, with some 8.5 million bottles. It's a straightforward, fruit-driven, fresh and drinkable wine that mixes Malbec grapes from Luján de Cuyo, which provides round fruit, and the Valle de Uco, which adds freshness. Only part of the wine has contact with oak, and the wine comes through as fruit forward, very clean and juicy, like biting into a ripe cluster of Malbec fruit, refreshing and very tasty. Delicious textbook Malbec. It's not easy to make so many liters of wine of this quality at an unbeatable price.
Tasting Notes Trivento is well-balanced, with a bouquet of plum, strawberry, cherry and raspberry aromas the meld exquisitely with vanilla, coffee and chocolate notes from the oak. A graceful palate and good body displays sweet tannins and a lingering velvety finish.

  • 2015 Casa Castillo ‘Las Gravas’

    $29.99
    WA 94
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 94: The 2015 Las Gravas is a classic Mediterranean blend of Monastrell with 15 percent each Garnacha and Syrah, with 15 percent alcohol after fermenting with part of full clusters and indigenous grapes and aging in used oak barrels for 19 months. 2015 is the last vintage that Las Gravas has some Syrah, as it adds some sweet fruit he wants to avoid. However, it shows fresh within the balsamic profile, with plenty of rosemary and thyme notes combined with floral undertones and the character of the esparto grass and tree bark that are textbook descriptors of the variety.

Small production, organic, native ferment, with a bit of skin contact and minimal S02 at bottling - what more could you ask for in a unique white blend that pleases all the points on your palate? A blend of of 45 percent Riesling, 40 percent Gewurztraminer, 14 percent Early Muscat, and 1 percent others that were natively co-fermented with up to 7 days of skin contact. Big Salt is light gold in color, no doubt due to skin contact during crush. Aromas of salty bergamot, lemon, nectarine and white tea– exotic fruits fill out the nose. • 2015 Château Senejac Haut-Médoc

    $23.00
    WA 91JS 93
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 91: The 2015 Senejac is a blend of 51 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 37 percent Merlot, 8 percent Cabernet Franc and 4 percent Petit Verdot. It has a pure, black cherry, pastille-like bouquet with touches of melted tar and licorice. The palate is well balanced with dry, rather masculine tannin on the entry, a good line of acidity, fresh and nicely proportioned with cedar and tobacco furnishing the long finish. This is a well-crafted, capable Sénéjac that deserves 5-6 years in bottle, and I expect it to land at the top of my banded score.
James Suckling 93: This shows density and structure for a 2015 with ripe tannins and bright fruit character. Full body. Chewy texture. Extremely well done for Médoc.
