2018 Prieuré de Montézargues Tavel Rosé
$23.00Tasting Notes ~ Tavel is the only all-Rose appellation in the Rhone of France. Said to be the only Rose that can actually age (and improve with age). It has been a favorite among royalty since the 18th century - said to be Lous XIV favorite style of wine. Tavel Rose is always dry with fleshy, round body structures (much like a light red wine) and blanched by acidity. Chateau La Nerthe is comprised of mostly of Grenache and Grenache Blanc as well as Syrah, Clairette, Cinsault, Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Bourboulenc all hand harvested from the Estate vineyards that are certified organic. This vivid pink Tavel is extremely aromatic. The nose is complex with blood oranges and graphites notes enhanced with raspberry and peach character. The palate is juicy, with a chalky-mineral acidity and a bright and energetic finish.
