  • 2016 Lail ‘J. Daniel Cuvée’ Cabernet Sauvignon

    $289.99
    WA 100JS 97
Wine Advocate 100: One-hundred percent Cabernet Sauvignon aged 20 months in 75% new French oak, the 2016 J Daniel Cuvee is deep garnet-purple in color and offers up exuberant notes of crème de cassis, chocolate-covered cherries, wild blueberries, violets and unsmoked cigars with touches of garrigue, fragrant earth, powdered cinnamon, black olives and tree bark. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is built like a brick house, with a solid frame of firm, grainy tannins and seamless freshness supporting the taut, muscular fruit, finishing long and minerally. 950 cases produced.
James Suckling 97: Love the green olives, blackberries and sweet tobacco. Hints of walnuts and wet earth. Full-bodied yet reserved and very tight with beautiful richness and focus. Dense and exciting. A blend of Oakville and Howell Mountain. Great Napa cab. Try after 2022.

  • 2004 Billecart-Salmon Brut Blanc de Blancs (1.5 L)

    $459.99
    WS 92JS 95WE 95
Wine Spectator 92: Toasted brioche and pastry cream notes are rich and smoky in this elegant Champagne, riding the refined mousse with flavors of white peach and candied kumquat. The spiced finish is ripe and balanced. Drink now through 2025.
James Suckling 95: The vintage edition of Billecart's Blanc de Blancs comes from the same four villages as the NV but carries a much more savory style, showcasing plenty of pastry and chalky lees-derived oyster shell as well as a subtly spicy oak thread. Fresh almond nougat, honeyed peaches and white flowers all abound. The palate texture is striking, smooth and creamy, as peach and lemon-custard flavors run even and long. Really impeccably balanced. Handy depth and drive. Drinking very well now: in a great place.
Wine Enthusiast 95: This is a superb Blanc de Blancs that boasts great minerality, texture and intense fruit flavor. It's a finely structured wine, now approaching maturity with its apple, citrus and green pear notes. Lingering in the mouth, it is a beautifully long-lasting, pure wine. Drink until 2018 and probably beyond. Cellar Selection.

  • 2012 Amuse Bouche

    $326.99
    WA 90JS 92
Wine Advocate 90: The 2012 Proprietary Red Amuse Bouche offers juicy blue and red fruits along with surprisingly noticeable acidity, good cleanliness and purity, and a style that falls somewhere between a French Bordeaux and a Napa red wine. Although still youthful, it displays a potential for plenty of aromatic complexity, medium to full body, and savory flavors. The wine has yet to reveal its considerable potential, so give it several more years of bottle age and drink it over the following 10-15 years.
James Suckling 92: Aromas and flavors of walnuts, balsamic vinegar and dried fruits that follow through to a full body, round and juicy tannins and a savory finish. Some orange-peel undertones. Needs a couple of years to come together.
