2017 Booker Vineyard ‘My Favorite Neighbor’

    $70.00
    WA 94JD 96
Jeb Dunnick 96: The 2017 My Favorite Neighbor is also terrific and I suspect would cost 2-3 times its going rate if it was from Napa Valley. It's also the more elegant, perfumed, red-fruited release compared to the darker fruited Harvey and Harriet release. Classy notes of black raspberries, spice box, white flowers, lead pencil shavings, and tobacco leaf all emerge from the glass of this medium to full-bodied red, which offers a seamless texture, fine tannins, and a great finish. It will be better with 2-3 years of bottle age and keep for over a decade.

    $39.00
Tasting Notes Deep ruby in color, the 2018 Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon expresses aromas of fresh black currants and cherries accompanied by subtle smoky notes and dried spices. On the palate, this lavish powerful wine is layered with juicy blackberry, ripe cherry, vanilla bean and brown butter. It’s full-bodied and rich, balanced by a touch of bright acidity and firm polished tannins.

Vinous 94: Limpid straw-yellow. A highly perfumed, mineral-accented bouquet evokes ripe citrus and orchard fruits, buttered toast and succulent flowers, and a fennel nuance emerges with air. Shows superb depth and sharp delineation, offering vibrant tangerine, pear nectar, honeysuckle and succulent herb flavors that tighten up slowly on the back half. Powerful yet graceful, displaying sharp focus and minerally thrust on an impressively long finish that features repeating floral and orchard fruit notes.

    $71.00

Wine Spectator 93: Personality meets refinement, with expressive black raspberry, smoky garrigue and stony white pepper notes that build richness and complexity toward polished tannins. Mourvèdre, Grenache, Syrah and Counoise. Drink now through 2027.
Vinous 94: Glistening ruby. Pungent black and blue fruit, potpourri and incense aromas show outstanding clarity and pick up exotic spice and mineral nuances as the wine opens up. Sappy and penetrating on the palate, offering bitter cherry, black raspberry, violet pastille and spice cake flavors that deepen on the back half. Finishes very long and precise, with mounting tannins and an emphatic echo of candied flowers.
