2020 Broc Cellars Nouveau$31.00Tasting Notes ~ This year’s nouveau comes from a small amount of Valdiguié grapes that we picked intending to make rosé but turned it into a bright high acid red. Two thirds of the fruit we left as whole clusters and the remaining was destemmed and placed on top of the whole clusters as they fermented in tank. A small amount of carbonic takes place from the whole clusters. Aged in neutral French oak for 6 weeks. Bottled unfiltered and ready to drink now.
2017 Obsidian Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon$34.00Wine Enthusiast 93 ~ This ageworthy Cabernet is extremely deep and concentrated, but holding everything rather tightly at this young age. Aromas of tamarind and tobacco lead to dense flavors of blueberry, black cherry and dark chocolate that expand on the palate beautifully. It was aged in Hungarian barrels, 45 percent new.
2017 Aerena Cabernet Sauvignon$19.00Tasting Notes ~ The Cabernet is uplifting with fruit and floral components coming together in perfect balance. Soft and supple tannins offer great approachability but this vintage is not afraid to show its true cabernet core.
