2016 Domaine Cazes ‘Alter’ Côtes du Roussillon$22.00Tasting Notes The nose reveals great aromas of well-ripen red fruits. On the palate, these are melted with leather and liquorice notes with many soft tannins. This is a powerful and very well balanced wine with a long finish.
2014 Cave des Vignerons Jean de Roze Vin de Pays d’Hérault$13.00Tasting Notes Roasted red fruits, game meats, cooked porcinis, and forest floor firmly ground this red blend in the old-world style. Medium-bodied and full of juicy ripe red and black cherries, this wine has layers of flavors making for a complex wine that is still easy to appreciate.
2017 Lafage ‘Tessellae’ Old Vines$19.00Jeb Dunnick 92: The GSM of the estate, the 2017 Tessellae Old Vines checks in as 50 percent Grenache, 40 percent Syrah, and 10 percent Mourvèdre brought up mostly in concrete. Blackberries, kirsch, spice, incense, dried flowers, and baking spice notes all flow to a full-bodied, gorgeously texture effort. It's another gem from this team.
