  • 2018 Anko Torrontes

Tasting Notes  Anko means “high water” in the native Indian language of Salta, located in the northwest corner of Argentina. The vineyards are indeed an oasis amid the surrounding jagged, high desert landscape. Anko strives to achieve a terroir-driven Torrontés from Cafayate, Salta. Sustainably Farmed, 100 percent hand harvested the soil profile lends a distinct minerality to the Torrontes fruit. The grapes are harvested early in order to showcase their distinct jasmine floral aromas and citrus fruit profile. Natural acidity lends a bright, clean finish.

  • 2018 Trivento Reserve Malbec

    WA 89
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 89: The largest production from Trivento is the 2018 Reserve Malbec, with some 8.5 million bottles. It's a straightforward, fruit-driven, fresh and drinkable wine that mixes Malbec grapes from Luján de Cuyo, which provides round fruit, and the Valle de Uco, which adds freshness. Only part of the wine has contact with oak, and the wine comes through as fruit forward, very clean and juicy, like biting into a ripe cluster of Malbec fruit, refreshing and very tasty. Delicious textbook Malbec. It's not easy to make so many liters of wine of this quality at an unbeatable price.
Tasting Notes Trivento is well-balanced, with a bouquet of plum, strawberry, cherry and raspberry aromas the meld exquisitely with vanilla, coffee and chocolate notes from the oak. A graceful palate and good body displays sweet tannins and a lingering velvety finish.
