2018 Altocedro Cabernet Sauvignon$19.00Wine Advocate 90: The creamy and spicy 2018 Año Cero Cabernet Sauvignon seemed to have a little more influence from the élevage in oak barrels (only one-third of the wine for ten months) than its siblings. It has varietal notes, balsamic and herbal, with blackberry aromas and an austere palate with serious tannins. It felt a bit austere compared with the others. It needs food. 27,000 bottles produced.
2018 Altocedro ‘Año Cero’ Malbec$19.00Wine Advocate 91: The floral, open and expressive 2018 Año Cero Malbec had a clean, varietal nose and a medium-bodied palate with very fine tannins and a soft mouthfeel. It fermented with indigenous yeasts in concrete vats, and one-third of the volume matured in French and American oak barrels for ten months. It's quite fruit driven and juicy, with a soft, caressing texture.
